How We Met
The right place, at the Lord's perfect time.
February 28th, 2024:
The first time Brooke laid eyes on Stephen. Picture this, a muddy line dancing bar in the middle of nowhere; Brooke was standing on the outskirts of the dance floor as she watched Stephen spin around. In awe she turned to her friend and said "I need that man". Nothing came of that night, until..
June 8th, 2024:
Stephen and Brooke were both at a George Strait concert at MetLife Stadium — Stephen was just coming back from getting waters and snacks from the convention stand, and Brooke was in line to use the bathroom. The crowd of people split and they locked eyes. Nervous, Stephen looked down, saying to himself, "Wow, she's beautiful." He looked back up and they locked eyes again — Stephen knew he had to go say something. He walked right up and said: "I'm so sorry to bother you, but you are absolutely gorgeous." Brooke blushed, "Thank you." They introduced themselves and she gave Stephen her phone number. Thirty minutes later he texted her to see where she was in the stadium, they sang, danced, and got to know each other. Before George Strait's closing song, Stephen asked, "Can I take you on a date tomorrow?" and that's exactly what he did.
June 9th, 2024:
The following day he picked her up with the most beautiful flowers in hand and took her to a local restaurant. After dinner, they watched the sunset in the most romantic setup, blankets and pillows thrown around the truck bed blasting music off of a speaker. They laid in the bed and talked — Stephen asked her everything he could think of, they ended up going back and fourth until 1AM then romantically fell asleep. Confused, they woke up at 2AM to rain hitting their faces. It was a night they will never forget, and Stephen knew from that moment Brooke was going to be his wife and Brooke knew Stephen was going to be her husband.
They met through the Lord’s perfect timing—an expression of His unfailing grace, gently and beautifully weaving their lives together in a way only He could. In His divine wisdom, He guided their paths to cross at just the right moment, when their hearts were ready and their souls prepared for something greater than themselves. What may have seemed like an ordinary meeting was, in truth, part of a much bigger story He had been writing all along. From the very beginning, He knew the love they would share, the strength they would find in one another, and the life they would build together. In His perfect plan, they were never strangers— only two hearts patiently waiting to find their way home to each other.

Love for the Outdoors
The first time Brooke ever went to visit Stephen at his home, he asked her what she would like to watch on the TV. With a quick reply and a straight face she said, "can you pull up the Bass Master Classic?".
Coming from families where hunting and fishing were a way of life, it had always been a part of who we are. When we began sharing those moments together—learning side by side, growing with each experience—it quickly became something we cherished most. Along the way, we realized there weren’t many couples out there sharing this kind of journey, telling their story through the outdoors the way we hoped to.
As a young couple, we felt called to share our journey—both in the outdoors and in everyday life. What began as a simple desire to document our experiences has grown into something far more meaningful than we ever imagined. We’ve been incredibly blessed with a community of people who follow along, support us, and find joy in the same passions that bring us together. It’s something we never take for granted.
We carry a deep sense of gratitude for every person who chooses to be part of our story. Being able to share not only our love for the outdoors, but also our faith and the life we’re building together, is a blessing we hold close to our hearts. Through it all, we continue to pursue God, embrace the beauty of His creation, and grow stronger in our love for one another—thankful every day that we get to walk this journey side by side and share it with others.
Our Goal
At Primal Pursuit, our mission is simple at its core: to inspire others to step outside, experience the beauty of the outdoors, and grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. What we’ve come to believe is that the outdoors was never meant to be an escape from life—but rather a place where life is enriched, restored, and strengthened. The outdoors has the power to draw us closer—to God, to one another, and to what truly matters.
It’s in these quiet, unfiltered moments—whether hunting at first light, casting a line across still water, hiking through God’s creation, or simply sitting in the woods as the sun rises—that something deeper begins to take root. Faith is strengthened, relationships are deepened, and memories are created that last far beyond the moment itself.
We believe God designed the outdoors with purpose. It teaches us patience in the waiting, humility in the unknown, gratitude for His provision, and a deep respect for the world He created. These experiences shape not only who we are, but how we live and love.
At Primal Pursuit, our heart is to encourage others to step into these moments together—husbands and wives, fathers and sons, friends and families—walking side by side in adventure, purpose, and faith. Because in the end, while the hunt, the catch, and the journey all hold meaning, they are not the ultimate goal.
The greatest pursuit of all is pursuing Christ.
